Famous Movie Songs

Image of Famous Movie Songs.

Not every famous movie song was written just for the movie it was associated with and in the last few years this has become more the norm as movie producers turn to popular artists and their music to liven up their movie soundtracks. Some of these songs end up as the theme songs for the movie while others are somewhere in the middle where they are associated with an unforgettable scene.

Where once these famous movie songs were a hit in their own right, being added to a hit movie turns them into a cross genre super smash hit that everyone no matter how young or old remembers. These hits then become one of the most requested tracks at mp3 download sites such as iTunes.

Perhaps it is a generational thing but who can forget "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen belting out as Wayne and Gath go cruising and head banging in the Mirth Mobile in the 1992 hit movie Wayne's World. While this incredible harmony was a gigantic hit in the 70's for Queen, the movie relaunched it back to superstardom in the 90's.

You have probably seen this song in more commercials than any other song in history, but Bob Seeger's "Old Time Rock and Roll' got its movie notoriety in the 1983 hit movie Risky Business as the world got to see a very young Tom Cruise dance around in his underwear while this tune was belting out of the stereo.

Rocky has brought us more than one famous movie song with the original theme song from the first Rocky movie to Survivors "Eye of the Tiger" from Rocky III in 1983 as Rocky geared up to fight Mr. T. Twenty years later this song can still pump you up and have you feeling like you are ready to take a few jabs at the punching bag before jumping into the ring.

The Doors could have penned "The End" just for the movie Apocalypse Now as this haunting tune made the opening sequences totally unforgettable in a movie that more than made it mark in the movie world. The song and the movie were truly made for each other.

There are so many famous movie songs that to try and list them all would take forever, the question is what to do people do with their favorite songs. Since all of them are available for download at any of the hundreds of paid per song download sites there is an unlimited number of things that you can do with them.

Many people like to download the more upbeat ones like "Maniac" from Flashdance or "Footloose" from the movie of the same name into their mp3 player to use as motivational music for when they are exercising. Others use them as ringtones on their cells phones to remind them of their favorite movies.

Finally there are those that just like to create CDs of their favorite songs to listen to when they are on the road or relaxing at home.
