Movie Songs - Unforgettable Movie Songs
Over the years there have been many movie songs that have captivated people and have become unforgettable songs
that become a big part of our lives. These songs are instantly recognizable and for most people as soon as they
hear the opening notes they know exactly what song it is and what movie it comes from. While many movies have great
soundtracks, whether they rely on existing music or have a soundtrack that was written just for the movie, very few
movies have one song that leaves such a lasting impression.
Once you hear the first bars of these movie songs you can tell which movie it belongs to and probably recall
where you were when you first saw the movie and your favorite parts of the show. In recent movie history perhaps
one of the most instantly recognizable songs is the theme song from the original Rocky movie. There are few people
who cannot pick out the movie as soon as the first notes peal out from the horns.
Then there is the opening stanza from Jaws, the eerie sound puts you right in the water with a great white shark
and beach full of swimmer to eat. This movie was a summer blockbuster in 1975 and while the movie was great the
soundtrack was absolutely incredible and as the rise and swell of the music drew the suspense and tension out to
incredible lengths as we all waited for the monster shark to take it next victim.
Not all movie songs are about the music many of them are more about the actual song and leave us with songs
stuck in our heads that we can still sing years after we have last seen the movie. These songs have us crooning
songs of love in the middle of the grocery store or skipping down the sidewalk with a smile on our face and a song
in our heart.
At the top of this list has to be "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" form the Wizard of Oz performed by Judy Garland.
This song of hope and idealism gave us all hope for a better future when the movie was first released in 1939 and
still does today, who does not immediately see Dorothy and her friends the minute they hear Judy sing the opening
lines?
Kid's movies have given us more than their fair share of movie songs that we love to sing along with including
"Somewhere under the Sea" from the Little Mermaid or
"Chitty Chitty Bang Bang?"These songs take us back to when we children even if we were adults when the movie
came out as they fill us with a sense of joy and wonder.
While you used to have to wait for the movie to come on the television or play the DVD to hear these songs you
can now download them from many different online music stores. They are available in convenient mp3 format so that
you can load them into your mp3 player or burn them onto a CD and take them wherever you go and sing along to your
heart's content.
